Providing Opportunities for Progression
Credit and APEL Conference held April 21st 2009
Wednesday, 10th June 2009
The world of academic credit is undergoing a period of great change as 2010 draws ever closer. By this time higher education across Europe will be aligned, allowing mutual recognition of qualifications and greater mobility across the European Higher Education Area. Within the same time period, the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) will have been replaced by the new, unit based, Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and we will be well on the way to achieving the targets set for us in the Leitch Report, of having 40% of the workforce qualified to level 4 or above. Within this context, the Kent and Medway Lifelong Learning Network is proud to announce the sign up of all twelve partner institutions to the joint credit framework for Kent and Medway.
This conference posed the question: how ready is your institution to rise to the challenges of 2010; to the threats of enhanced global competitiveness and the opportunities presented by enhanced collaboration?
