Providing Opportunities for Progression
The Compact Partnerships
The Compact Partnerships
Students aged 14-19 in schools or colleges in Kent and Medway may benefit from the Compact partnerships. Universities within the partnership have agreed to recognise a wider range of activities and achievements from Kent and Medway Schools students. There are two Compacts for the Kent and Medway area:
The Medway Progression Compact
Any student studying in Medway can benefit from the compact – an agreement between Medway local authority, Mid Kent College and the higher education institutions.
The Medway Progression Compact is an agreement by the University of Kent , the University of Greenwich, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University College for the Creative Arts at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester, the Mid-Kent College, all of whom have campuses in Medway, to recognise a wider range of activities and achievements for students from Medway secondary schools and colleges when applying to them. Some of the activities include:
• Medway Active Communities Volunteer Programme
• Sixth Form to HE Transition Programme
• Duke of Edinburgh Award
• Millennium Volunteers
Any Medway student applying through the Medway Progression Compact Award will:
• be guaranteed an offer or an interview at any of the local universities,
• be able to claim up to 40 points contributing to the standard UCAS offer for activities they have been involved in during the course of their level 3 study. Find out more on the Medway 14-19 Area Prospectus – Your Choice in Medway (note: may take a minute or two to load)
The Kent Higher Education Compact
