Kent and Medway LLN Credit Framework
The Credit Framework is an agreement with Kent and Medway LLN partner institutions (the colleges and universities within Kent) to accredit learning in the same way. It’s an agreement that ensures quality and consistency across the institutions.
For the learner this means:
Credits you gain from one institution will be recognised by the partner institutions, both in terms of the number and the level at which the credits are awarded.
This is particularly important if you have credit for learning at one institution and wish to use those credits toward a programme of study at another.
Also:
Your prior learning may be recognised by the institution and accredited against the course/programme you wish to study for example:
- This may be learning gained formally that has already been assessed and certificated as part of a course of study at higher education level and is known as Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)
- Or learning acquired through life experiences, such as work, voluntary work, home, or leisure, in which case you will need to provide evidence of your learning according to the individual institutions procedures for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL)
